A few months ago, the New York Times ran an interactive piece called “Last Words of the Condemned,” which featured some of the last words of death row inmates in Texas. I wrote a found poem using only these last words; even the title was taken from the feature. The result, “Warden, Murder Me,” is up today at New Verse News, a blog focused on progressive, political poetry.
